About Your Hosts

Mark Warren

Host and Co-producer

With nearly 30 years of experience in the pet industry, Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to the podcast. His expertise spans animal welfare, pet and pet-owner data and trends, pet insurance, veterinary care, pet food manufacturing, and retail sales.

Before entering the pet industry, Mark worked in investment banking and corporate finance. This combination of financial and industry experience has enabled him to build an extensive network of influential leaders, innovators, and decision-makers who are helping shape the future of the pet industry and the choices pet parents make today.

Mark is also a proud pet parent to Kemosabe, his 10-year-old German Shepherd, and Jameela, his 7-year-old Beagle.

Julie Houde

Co-host & Co-producer

From hamsters to horses, animals have always been a big part of Julie’s life. She also brings more than 20 years of entrepreneurial experience in local and international trade. Although none of that has fully prepared her for the challenge of keeping Mark focused.

In a world of haters, and since Joe Rogan’s arms are more muscular than Mark’s legs, Julie, a boxer herself, also doubles as Mark’s bodyguard. She keeps the conversation moving, the tangents under control, and Mark reasonably safe. Basically, she’s the bell, and the backup.

Currently a pet parent to a 5-year-old dog rescue named Denver and a 8 years old cat rescue named Eazy.
